Crystal Hartman was raised in the mouth of a canyon where the light fades early, sounds echo off of walls, and stories collect as remnants in the wash. A multidisciplinary artist and jeweler, her paintings, videos, and sculptural adornment have been exhibited and published in the United States and internationally since 2005 when she received her BFA for printmaking from The University of Colorado at Boulder. Hartman began her career filming amateur and professional skateboarding, teaching and studying craft abroad, founding and directing community-based arts programs in southwest Colorado. Cultivating conversation and community, Hartman is an advocate for the natural world maintaining a studio in Urbana, Illinois.
