I was born an artist; I can’t remember a time when I didn’t draw or paint.
My formative years as an artist were spent in Brown County Indiana, where I was deeply influenced by the impressionist traditions of the artists who came there to paint before me.
I was equally inspired by the presence of every kind of craft imaginable, courtesy of my mother and a few other artsy friends over the years; there’s a peace in crafts like crochet or candle-making or carving, and I like the fact that it’s a form of knowledge that is passed down from generation to generation.
