Artist Statement

Ever since Jose could remember, Jose has always loved to draw, paint, and create. He has always wanted to do something within the art field. Many people go through most of their lives not knowing what they want to do for a living, he did not have that problem, the only problem was wanting to do everything from painting, sculpting, illustrating, to animating. For a long time, Jose could not focus on one career choice, so for years he explored different avenues. Eventually as a young man, being from the inner city, he fell in love with a new art form: graffiti. He took to it right away and fell in love with the Hip Hop culture and the graffiti art scene. Spray paint became his first medium that really let him evolve his style and show what he can do as an artist. A few years later, he began to work with more traditional mediums such as acrylics, pastels, and gouache. Acrylics and airbrush being his focus in the beginning. Today though he loves working digital, but there is still nothing like just simply drawing with a pencil on paper. For Jose, he is still evolving and expanding, never happy with staying with one style or medium. It’s just him loving anything and everything art.
