Community Center for the Arts New String Faculty!

The Community Center for the Arts (C4A) is proud to announce the addition of two extraordinary string teachers to our faculty:

Alex Malaimare is a native of Bucharest, Romania. Mr. Malaimare has performed extensively throughout Europe—including in Austria, Belgium, Germany, Romania, Norway, Ukraine, and the United Kingdom—and has presented significant performances in Chicago and Southern California. He holds graduate degrees from Western Illinois University and the Royal Conservatory of Antwerp, and is a Doctoral candidate at the University of Illinois. He is currently the Assistant Concertmaster of the Champaign-Urbana Symphony Orchestra.

Wayne Logue is a master fiddler in the Mid-western old time tradition. He has been a central figure in fiddling communities in central Illinois and in Arizona, where he lived and played for many years. He has a vast repertoire of traditional American fiddle tunes and is also versed in the violin styles of native Papago and Pima musicians of southern Arizona. Mr. Logue is an avid dance fiddler and teacher, and has led traditional music sessions at festivals throughout the US.

Both of these excellent violinists are available for private instruction at the Community Center for the Arts, 103 N. Race Street, Urbana, Illinois.
