BLOOM :: an abstract exploration of a theme

Call for Art, Boneyard Arts Festival 2020

Announcing a juried call for abstract artwork for Boneyard Arts Festival 2020! BLOOM seeks abstract work that explores a theme related to the prompt “bloom”. This can be anything and everything...florals, plant life, space, things that expand, paint bloom, paper bloom, wax bloom, ideas that bloom, what makes you as an artist bloom—any definition that you, as an artist, resonate with related to this prompt. It can be the work itself, the support the work is created on, a portion of the work, or something incorporated into the work. This call is for 2D and 3D pieces. 2D work MUST be ready to hang, works not wired will be rejected. 3D works MUST be accompanied by a pedestal unless they are free standing, or light weight and wall mountable.

Artists may submit up to 3 images for consideration to: bloomartshow@gmail.com by midnight on February 23, 2020. Images should be labeled in this format: (LASTNAME_FIRSTNAME_01). LATE SUBMISSIONS WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED. Juried artists will be notified on March 14, 2020 by 11:59 PM. Details for drop off, pick up, and opening reception will be emailed at a later date. Boneyard Arts Festival is the weekend of 2-5, 2020 and is a free event to further arts awareness and celebration in Champaign County, and to that end, $20 will be due at time of drop off to cover incidental costs associated with this exhibition. There is no maximum size of work, however very large pieces will be considered case by case, taking the space available and entire show into account.
