Studio Space/Teaching Opportunities Announced
Urbana - The Cherry Alley Artists at the IMC Community and Media Arts Center have studio space and teaching opportunities available. If you are a professional artist, an art student, a Sunday painter, an art teacher, or would just like to share space with other artists, you are encouraged to contact the Cherry Alley Artists. The group describes their IMC-based facilities as perfect for someone who needs to get their paints off their kitchen table, for someone looking for inspiration, for mentoring, or for a cool place to hang out and make art and perhaps teach. Any and all types of artists are welcome. Six artists are currently committed and the group is looking for two more. Prices range from $45 a month for using common space to approximately $120 a month for an individual space. Contact Sandra Ahten at spirtofsandra@hotmail.com, or call 217-367-6345, for more information.
Who Are Cherry Alley Artists?
This is the newly formed collective of artists who are sharing space in the lower level of the downtown Urbana Post Office (now owned by the UC-Independent Media Center) which is bordered by Elm Street on the north and Cherry Alley on the south.
