Announcing a Stencil Art Workshop and A Call for Submissions

Champaign - OPENSOURCE Art has announced a Stencil Art Workshop and a Call for Submissions.
Call For Submissions:
In a show entitled The Walls Are Talking Back, OPENSOURCE Art will be displaying the work of underground and anonymous stencil artists in an attempt to raise awareness of stencil art. Stencil artists risk arrest and challenge censorship to make their voices heard. Displayed works will come from a wide variety of artists and show a multiplicity of styles and topics, from the personal to the political to the simply stunning.
Submission deadline: July 29, 2005 (from noon-7pm)
Drop your work off at OPENSOURCE Art, Champaign
Show dates: August 4-15, 2005
Opening reception: August 4, 2005, 6-10pm
Submission guidelines:
• stencils may be submitted and installed by the artist
• stencils may be submitted with installation instructions
• photo documentation of stencils may be submitted
• any combination of these
Submissions may be sent via postal service, email or delivered in person.
Stencil Art Workshop: July 8, from 4-7pm.
Do you want help or instruction on how to make your own stencil? Or would you like to work with other local stencil artists? Come to a stencil workshop at OPENSOURCE. All levels of experience welcome.
