Call For Submissions

June 23, 2005

Champaign - Whether 1 x 1 or 1,000,000 x 1,000,000,  OPENSOURCE Art seeks works that strive to transform, alter, convert, metamorphose, mold, mutate, revolutionize, switch, transfigure, translate, transmogrify, transmute, or transpose a grid or pattern. OPENSOURCE encourages broad and unusual interpretations of the grid, including but not limited to social, political, and spatial transformations. 

Artists working in all media are encouraged to apply.

Submission deadline:  August 5, 2005

Show dates:  August 18 – 28, 2005

Opening Reception:  August 18, 2005

Submission guidelines:
Please submit a detailed proposal that includes documentation, installation time and contact information.  Documentation may be in the form of, but not limited to, drawings, sketches, slides, video, cd and dvd.  Supporting materials (cv, portfolio, statement, etc.) are not necessary, but would be helpful.

Proposals may be sent via postal service, email or delivered in person.

NOTE: If you would like your proposal returned, please include a self-addressed package with sufficient return postage in the form of stamps.  Accepted works must include return packaging and proper postage.  Materials that cannot be returned will become donations to OPENSOURCE Art.  OPENSOURCE Art is not responsible for lost or damaged material. OPENSOURCE Art is a volunteer-run, non-commercial space that hosts and supports a diversity of projects:  artists workshops and lectures; short-term art exhibitions and events by local, regional, national, and international artists.
