Celebrate the Arts this October!
August 12, 2005
Springfield, IL - 2005 marks the 40th anniversary of the Illinois Arts Council (IAC), and the state agency is inviting members of the public to join them in celebrating the arts by participating in Illinois Arts Week 2005, happening October 16th through 22nd. This year's Arts Week theme, ‘The Arts Are All Around Us,’ has been conceived to help people recognize that the arts are an ever-present part of our lives. Illinois Arts Weeks takes place in the month of October, National Arts and Humanities Month.
Each year the IAC promotes hundreds of communities, schools, community-arts groups, park districts, libraries, senior centers, and artists’ studios where Illinois Arts Week events and activities are celebrated in their own unique ways.
Local venues can get help with the promotion of their own Illinois Arts Week events by making use of the IAC's Illinois Arts Week 2005 Promotional Kit which includes the Illinois Arts Week 2005 Proclamation from Governor Rod Blagojevich; a History of Illinois Arts Week; a list of Ways to Celebrate featuring examples of Illinois Arts Week events to spark your imagination, and the Illinois Arts Week logo. Also available is a list of IAC grants that can help support your Arts Week programs.
The Illinois Arts Week 2005 Promotional Kit is available on the IAC website at www.state.il.us/agency/iac or by calling the IAC at 312/814-6750. Visit this link to learn more: http://www.state.il.us/agency/iac/artsweek/Artsweek05.pdf
