AUDITIONS Announced for "To Kill a Mockingbird"

Rantoul - Auditions have been announced for roles in the award-winning play To Kill a Mockingbird. Auditions for the adaptation of the famous novel by Harper Lee will be held Saturday and Sunday, July 23 and 24, from 1-5pm at Grissom Hall in Rantoul, IL. Parts available include two boys, and a girl around 7.

When: from 1:00-5:00 PM, Saturday, July 23rd and Sunday, July 24th, 2005

Wanted: 12 male actors, 8 female actors, children actors (age 7 - high school), black actors (male-female) needed for critical principal roles.

This is a full length play taking place in 1935 at Maycomb, Alabama, involving racial prejudice, alleged rape, courtroom action.

This play won a Pulitizer Prize and actor Gregory Peck won an Academy Award for his role as Atticus Finch in 1962.

The Rantoul Theatre Group seats 190 patrons and performs 5 full length plays a season. All auditions are open to the public. No preparations are needed. Readings will be from the script.
