In addition to our regular museum space, we will be opening our theatre to give kids extra room for fun activities from community partners such as Dr. G’s Brainworks and Scinch! In addition to extra activities, we will officially debut a new exhibit in our courtyard, created in partnership with Joyful Bubbles! Plan to spend one of your last Saturdays of the summer at the Orpheum on August 15th from 1-5 PM. Participation in the event is included with the price of museum admission.

Our mission is to inspire, engage and educate children through exploration of science and the arts. The Orpheum is in its 23rd year of enriching our community through camps, after school, classes, special events, exhibits and field trips. Our home, the 1914 Orpheum Theatre, is one of the finest buildings in downstate Illinois, and this facility is one of the best examples of adaptive reuse of a historic building in the country.
