The musical style of Congolese musicians Jean Rene Balekita and Bomoyi is a rich mix of Gospel and Jazz with an African rhythm. They sing in English, French, Lingala, Kikongo, and Tshiluba. They have toured in Africa, Europe, and the United States and now live in Urbana, Illinois.

Come celebrate the annual Noon Day Drop event at the Orpheum Children’s Science Museum on December 31st, from 10:30 am - 1:00 pm! Our celebration is a family-friendly event for children to experience the New Year Drop with their family at noon rather than having to stay up until midnight. Noon Day Drop includes activities, music, crazy hats, noisemakers, a countdown to the big moment, and a drop of more than 4000 balloons at the strike of noon.
