Saturday, March 14, 2015 - 10:00am to 6:00pm
Gymnasium, Savoy Recreation Center 402 Graham Savoy, Illinois

We have an amazing line-up of artist vendors bringing their cool art and their craft items for you to purchase on March 14, 2015 at the Savoy Recreation Center!

With a requirement of at least 50% reuse materials used in each carefully crafted item, you will be delighted and impressed with the work for sale at this year’s show. Each year, our artists tell us that they are pleased with the responses they get from our community, the interest that is shown, the commitment to buy hand-made products and one-of-a-kind pieces. We are an art community and we can support hand-craft. Come out to the Hatch 2015 Art Fair!

$2 entry fee per person

Sunday, March 8, 2015 - 2:00pm to 3:00pm
Indi Go Artist Co-op 9 E. University Ave. Downtown Champaign, IL

Some of the artists exhibiting work in the Hatch Art Exhibition will be at the Indi Go Artist Co-op gallery, 9 E. University Ave., Champaign, Ill., from 2-3 p.m. on Sunday, March 8 to present an informal gallery talk. They’ll share information about their backgrounds and artistic intent, and will talk about the materials and sources they use to create art from items some may regard as trash or otherwise useless.

This talk is free and open to the public and casual in terms of dress. No experience required and no question is too simple. Come and join us and learn.

We’ll start with some time to socialize, munch and sip. Next, The I.D.E.A Co-founder Carol Jo Morgan will present tips for making cold connections and ideas for creating make-and-take “trashy” jewelry that reuses waste materials from champagne and wine bottles: corks, “cages” and labels.

The Hatch Clatch is open to any/all art teachers, but advanced registration is required, along with a $5 fee, which can be paid online by registering at the link above. You must be registered in advance and must be over 21 to register.

This “advanced-level” adult workshop is geared toward college students and members of the public with some experience and skills in jewelry-making or other hands-on visual arts or fine craft. Participants will learn to transform found objects into “reservoirs” for preserving ephemera or other small items, and to preserve the materials using resin. David and Roberta will also demonstrate how to create a bezel and use cold connections to join elements of the pieces they create.

Saturday, February 28, 2015 - 7:30pm
Champaign Public Library

David and Roberta deliver a visual presentation based on their work that describes how the pieces they make are fueled by passion. Their home is a design lab of sorts where they surround themselves with objects and still lifes that they find inspirational and motivating. Their house is an idea source; over the years, it has evolved and one has informed the other. They will show how their work has changed in tandem.
